Who called me? Got a call from 88850100001238

  This number keeps texting me with the message - "message cannot be displayed"  I also received some spam at the same time, but have managed to stop any money being filtered out now.  The text messages continue though. Any one know anything?<br />Thanks

  Further to my post above I sent a text to the number suggested by someone<br />88850 STOP but it does not work.I am still getting this number but I have diverted them all to " Screened Messages ".About once a week I simply delete them all in one operation without opening.Incidentally I checked my balance and opened one of the messages but I was not charged 12p as someone suggested.<br />I will keep checking the forum here and hope someone comes up with the answer.<br />If I find the answer I will post it.

  These messages seem to come from some type of company that is spaming you.<br />If you are gettint the messages, it means that your provider has some kind of agrement with this company (they do not juste make up numbers to send them to).<br />I work for a mobile manufacturer and can assure you that Vodafone can block this number at your request, they in fact have to if you ask them.<br />Don't let spamming make your life a misery, spamming is mind polution!

  i got this whilst in winchester, (hampshire) and at the same time from a similar number i get a messege with an address located in whinchester, somthing to do with a pub. hope this helps any one!

  This is so frustrating. I have endured this for over a month, at least 20 per day. Vodaphone are no help at all and I can not block them on my phone. It has forced me to switch to O2 so I don't have to put up with this crap.

  I get these messages every Thursday - at least one, sometimes up to 6.  On my other phone I used to erase them without opening them but still got charged.  I spoke to Vodaphone who told me to text STOP but this did not work.  My newer phone is not working at the  moment so I have reverted to an old Nokia - which doesn't have pictures/internet on it.  I am still getting these messages on a Thursday - 5 last week.  Just received one now.  I cannot erase it without opening it and am conscious that they will probably me charge.  Any ideas would be great!!<br /><br />I have tried phoning this number but it keeps saying not in use.

  I have been getting calls from this number for several months.Vodaphone told me they will eventually give up!!!.I have had in the region of 100 calls but I am not aware that I have been charged if I open them.I will,in future, keep a close eye on my balance.I will come back if I find that I am being charged.

  I am constantantly getting texts from 88850100001238 several times a day but message cannot be displayed I find them very annoying anyone know how to stop this number texting me I tried texxting stop to the number but they just came through even more I have tried ignoring and deleting them but they still come through several times a day if anyone knows how to stop this number please leave a comment on this page

  I've been getting them continuously for the last week or so, about 10 a day.  Phoned vodophone and they said text 88850 STOP (must be in caps).  Only why should we have to pay for this text message. <br /><br />Another one came through soon after.  Have put the number in screened calls, and erased it, before opening it just to see 'message cannot be displayed'.  Haven't had one for the last hour or so - oh joy! - so hope it's now gone.

  I've been getting these messages for months, sometimes up to 10 a day. Vodafone told me that the message is coming from them, that someone has tried to send a picture message to a phone that can't accept them. I've called Vodafone three times - the people who answer the phone sound like kids who don't know how to fix the problem, so they just fire a "solution" at you (text "STOP" etc.) to get you off the phone. If anyone comes up with a solution, PLEASE post it on here. I do not want to change my number!

  Can someone pls let me know if this is just a Vodaphone issue? If I transport my number to another network will they stop coming or will I still get the messages? Which are now becoming very annoying... My number is important to me and therefore I need to retain it.

  If u get a message from 88850100001238 DO NOT OPEN IT as they will charge u 12p for every one u open. This information has come from vodafone. Apparently the above number is trying to send u a picture message.

  my 7yr old son has been getting these text messages several times a day.<br />Phoned vodafone and they r coming from a company called WRMPC (can't tell u what it means). Vodafone have been very helpful tonight, and have now put a block on the phone to stop these text messages coming through in future. Heres hoping thats an end to them.
