  The first caller told me her name was Laura even though she had a very strong asian accent making her very difficult to understand. She informed me that she could see I had been frequently using my Visa\Debit card and asked if I had been recieving my statements regularly. She then informed that the date I recieved these was changing to the 15th of every month and asked me to get a pen and paper. I questioned why but she said I needed to take down some information and gave me her job ID no. then passed me to her manager Sam who also had a strong asian accent he told me that they had been instructed by my bank to call me and check that my account was running smoothly. He told me not to worry about anything and asked for the last 4 digits of my card which I refused to give him and after some discussion hung up. My bank had no knowledge of these people.

  UPDATE ref Received a call 01/09/09 (as above) <br />This chap was also allegedly called Sam Johnson (Although his accent was very strong). After the call @15.08 hrs they attempted to call me again 16.05 hrs and again requested my Credit card number. I just put the phone down.  As this is a work phone I searched by calls received and phoned that they have attempted to call me 18 times over the last week. What is concerning  is that before I sign or agree to anything I always ensure I either tick or un-tick the box to confirm that I do not want to be contacted so how are they getting our information including addressee?

  Recieved a call on 02/09/09 @ 12:20 a Asian sounding man who said his name was sam Johnson, I think not said he was from a company called Y Point Systems, he then asked me what my visa card looked like to make sure he was speaking to the right person, I hung up straight away but for five minutes after the call I couldn't phone out as if I was still connected. Very worried that these sort of people can get our details.

  This number just phoned me but when I picked up no one on the other end answered me!

  Received a call 01/09/09 15.08 hrs Obviously an international call due to the time delay and strong Indian accent. Told my they were calling from a company called Y Point Systems, New Road, Wootton Bridge, PO33 Tel 2032862096. Google searched and nothing comes back an the Name, address, or phone number they gave. Said that they wanted to send me a free plug in energy saver issued by the government. Then ask for a Visa card expiry date to confirm my address (which they already had) I questioned how they would know if this was wrong or right and again asked whey they needed it, response for security. I pull any date from the air and which point they asked me for my credit card number. I this then confirmed it was a scam and I polity told them I didn't want an energy saver. Thing is some poor person will get sucked in.
