Phoned 0844 47 77 802.<br />Received recorded messsage - "You have received a non-urgent, non-marketing call from Scottish Power. You do not need to respond. We will call again."<br /><br />WHY ???

  we've had many calls from 'Scottish Power' in the last few weeks asking for meter readings and found this number on our phone. one call was a Scottish sounding lady but others sounded foreign and they always ask for meter readings. Why?

  I just got one of those calls too, and the hung up.<br /><br />I tried to phone back but it says the number isn't in service. I wonder if its a company checking what phone numbers are in use for telemarketers or something?

  Scottish Power - asking for a meter reading, and also asking for my address (which I pointed out to them was the address they send my bill to)

  BE WARNED- Scottish Power told me they would never ring you to ask for a meter reading.  They say this is an illegal sales pitch to get you to switch to a rival supply company which may well, once they have your details, switch you without your permission.

  Had a couple of missed calls, they just phoned then hung up as I answered then my phone locked so had to take battery out and start all over again! <br />I have just switched over to Scottish Power its all going through at the mo!

  Received call from this number when was out.  I am with ScottishPower but had given them my reading through MeterPlus earlier in week as again was out when person had come to take gas reading.  So don't know why they needed to call again.

  A foreign sounding woman called me for a meter reading! Told them it had just been read the day before! When I pointed out that I didn't have Gas &amp; Electricity - she was confused! VERY DODGY!!!! Where do these people get our contact details from? Has Scottish Power a leak in customer private information??? NOT GOOD!!! Scottish Power should pursue this and investigate the source!!!
